Bonita Springs Revitalization, SW Florida

The revitalization of the Bonita Spirngs downtown corridor which is the Old 41 road, is well underway. With all the new projects being approved along the Old 41 corridor, the road needs changes. In May the widening of Old 41 will start. It will be widened to four lanes from US41 to Rosemary Drive. It is scheduled to move along quite rapidly and could be completed in early 2009. Some of the new projects underway is the old Bamboo Village, on the Imperial River, soon to be Imperial Landing developed by the Anteramian Development group. The city is finalizing the sale of the property to the developer. On Dean Street is a project consitstin of 160 condo's in 10 four story buildings. A 25 acre parcel on Longfellow is another project has been rezoned for a housing project. Easy access to Bonita's new destination points should help keep visitors coming back. That is good for the local ecomomy. I will keep you informed as it progresses.
