Coconut Point Town Center in Southwest Florida

Well the new Simon mall, called Coconut Point Town Center, has had it's official grand opening. As I drive by the mall located in the southern end of Estero close to the Bonita Springs City line, I see lots of activity. I went to the new movie theater, Muvico, and it was a very pleasant experience. We parked at Dillards and walked to the theater, about 4 blocks. Like walking downtown main street, in my home town. Very beautiful and lots to see. At night it is lit up very well and the lighting makes it very pleasant to walk. It is very attractive from US41 with all the store fronts and lighting at night, but the back side of the mall is like a main street and until you visit it you won't even notice the ambiance. Spring Creek Village in Southwest Florida

This manufactured home community may be looking a little different in the future. The city of Bonita Springs passed an ordinance to allow Single family homes on Mobile Home 1 lots. Lovers Key Carl E. Johnson State Park

Lovers Key has it's name for a reason. Old timers recall newlyweds honeymooning on the island in the mid 1930's. Boaters would go there which would be Bonita it's very own make out point. Lovers Key is the most westerly and has 3 other barrier islands that make up the state park. Black Island, Long Key and Inner Key. One black island legend has it that the pirate known as Black Augustus lived there for nearly 50 years. He used the the island as a safehouse until his death in the 1870's. RELAY for LIFE Bonita Springs

Well I am recooperating from my long walking bout at the Relay. It was held this year at the new YMCA of Bonita Springs. It started, for me, at 5:45 pm on Friday. I walked spuratically and tried to sell items to raise money to the walkers until 10:00 pm. then I walked for my hour. I came home slept from 1 am to 4:20 am and was back at the Y by 4:50. I walked from 5 am to 9 am then stayed around for clean up and the victory walk, which took place at 11:45 am Saturday. We as a group raised over $100,000 for the American Cancer Society. I will continue to do this as I have had a few of my close friends die or survive this nasty disease. It is dear to my heart. Until next year, keep walking. As always make it a great day.

Bonita Springs Relay For Life

Good morning! Well tomorrow evening at 6 pm the Relay for Life starts out with it's survivor walk. It is being held at the Bonita Springs YMCA just off east Terry St. just past the I75 overpass. They will have all kinds of fundraising things going on for the American Cancer Society. Lots of food and fun all night long from 6pm on Friday until noon on Saturday.
